Custom Speaker Setup vs. Factory, Plus Cost

My family and I are looking at eventually ordering a Nautique, hopefully G23. When it comes to stereo performance on the Nautiques, with the new 4 speaker set up are they loud and clear when riding and hanging out? Or is it better to not pay for this option when ordering a boat and then customizing a specific stereo not from the factory?

I am sure that there are a lot of preferences for stereo equipment, but what brand do people prefer? Also do extra batteries need to be added and any specific charging if using a stereo, or does the stock keep appropriate power all day.

Thanks for any advice and feedback.

Stereo, and especially tower speakers, are the one area Nautique still seems to be behind the other major brands. I would not order any stereo upgrades from the factory, especially if your goal is to be able to hear music at riding distances. Good brands of tower speakers that, when properly powered, you will be able to hear are Wetsounds, NVS, Bullet, Samson, and Kicker HCLDs. There are a lot of good after market shops that can help you, and David of Earmark is always on here who can answer your questions better than me.

As a G23 owner I did not order any upgrades on the boat sound system. I only reused the factory head unit. I didn't even turn it on before striping the factory amp and speakers out of it. For what they are charging for the tower speakers you can run the wetsounds and have 100% better sound quality. Good Luck with the G23 they are awesome boats..

I run the HD jl audio amps and love them! MHD600/4 on the in boats and the MHD 750/1 on the towers and a Kicker 2500.1 for the L712's . I replaced my batterys with XS power ones, we don't do a lot of parking and cranking the stereo so I don't need a big bank of battery's. I also upgraded my alternator to handle the added strain of the sound system
