    Speaker Opinions

I'm adding tower speakers to my '06 211. I will admit to being a somewhat of a stereo novice. I'm adding 4 speakers to the tower (either 4 singles or 2 doubles - not sure yet). Trying to keep this project under $2k. Need yall's opinion on a few things:

    1. Should I add an amp to power the additional speakers? My existing amp max power is 640W (4channel).

    2. 4 Singles or 2 doubles?

    3. Love the Wakesounds products (might go that route). But what other brands do you guys have on some of your boats? Likes and dislikes?

The quantity of speakers you add to the tower, their recommended RMS and how many speakers yo current amp is driving will dictate if another amp is needed. 9 out 10 times, a dedicated tower amp is best, so I would factor that in to the budget.

If the tower has a fairly straight cross bar, then a pair of doubles usually looks good. If the cross bar has a lot of arch to it, then singles are a better fit.

What are your tower speaker goals?

My goal is quality sound for whoever is being towed behind the boat. My wife is a little more concerned about them looking good! I'm not trying to win any awards. I want enough power so that the sound doesn't become distorted when volume is high. And the setup needs to look good going down the lake so the wife is happy.

I have 4 audioformz hcld 8" tower speakers for sale. They are loud and sound great! I just had take them off due to a partnership I now have with the wakeboard school. If it wasn't for that, I would have kept them on.
