Stereo w/ Auto-Volume based on RPM?

So, this may not be an original idea, but I did some searching and haven't found anything.

When we ride behind our 2001 SAN, we are always having to adjust the volume when riding versus idle (when the rider falls), back up again <repeat all day>...

My thought was to see if a radio exists, maybe a car radio, that can automatically adjust the volume based on if we are riding or not. I know a lot of car systems have an adjustment based on speed, and was thinking I could set something up as well either based on the RPM or speed in the boat.

has anybody heard of anybody doing this, and what was the outcome (success, nice try - but no, etc...)

    Thanks,
    Ben

For older systems, I use an app on my phone called "Speed of Sound" It adjusts the volume based on speed from GPS.
It's slightly slow to respond (2-3 second delay when stopping) but for free it's not half bad...

I don't think they make them anymore but a few years back a company called HSE made a product like you are describing. I think it was called the Revolution Volume Control or something.

If your deck has a mute wire (usually brown, generally used for incoming cell phone calls), you could wire up a window switch as "normally closed" wired to the brown wire, and then have the switch open at a predetermined RPM, bringing the sound back on. You should be able to score a window switch for about $50 on ebay.

I installed a Boost Box on my 08 210 a couple years ago . I am completely satisfied just set it and forget it.

I use the Adaptunes iPhone app. It works perfectly without any delays. I am not sure if it still available though....

adaptunes is NOT available anymore. There's another ap called audiocruise, but it is a huge battery hog.

audiocruise will work just fine with bluetooth. There is no ap that will control volume out of the dock connector if that's what you mean. Can only control volume via bluetooth or headphone jack.
