    Ryan,

So the recall does address a noise issue on the AUX RCA's grounding out, not the amp's RCA's from the head-unit, right? We disconnected the AUX RCA at the head-unit and connected an MP3 direct and still had noise. Seemed that the grounding may have damaged the AUX input circuit internal of the head-unit. With the WS-420, no OEM RCA cables reused or left connected, except the AUX input, leaving only the USB as the other source input. All other modes worked perfect, just the AUX.

MLA- hard for me to answer that, because I still have noise issues from the NSS, so it isnt solved for me.

For both David and MLA, a slick looking OEM solution for ZLD/420 install may be to use that metal plate and existing cutout in the driver's side glove box... looks like a 1/2DIN would fit perfectly in there, covered protected yet very close still within arm's reach.

Someone way smarter than me, knows G23s very well, than me thinks it may be the multi-pin data cable that runs from the HU over to the Link system in the drivers dash, allows you to control the Clarion HU form the Link System...... somehow, somewhere under the dash the NSS ground is running up to the dash... jumping into the HU/Link System cable and running back over to the HU to cut/ground out. THIS is where the NSS needs its own isolated run of + and - or perhaps find where the audio cable is grounding out.

This weekend I will disconnect that and see if the radio cuts off when NSS retracts. If it doesnt, we know the NSS is grounded wrong or an audio cable is grounded out somewhere.

The good thing is, the noises are relatively minor, cuts out only when surfing...else everything works great. Def not the worst problems.

        UPDATE:

We figured this out this electronics noise I was describing, and the NSS radio shut down potect mode issue.... nothing wrong with NSS or anything like that....it was my HU AUX in RCA input.... the one that runs from the back of the HU down under the floor.... over to the driver side for the AUX ins there in the driver's glove box, and the 3.5mm aux in under the throttle.... that cable was grounded or pinched out somewhere along that run causing all the problems whenever NCRS or NSS was being used.

This was a grounding problem in addition to the recall for the RCAs grounded out into that plate in the driver's side glove box.

I disconnected that AUX IN and immediately all the problems went away. I plugged up a temp AUX IN with Bluetooth off the back of the HU using that AUX, directly in, bypassing that bad run of RCA. Good to go Now... something to get fixed at the end of season.

Shots out to Tim White at Scream Marine for texting back and forth helping me isolate and trouble shoot on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasnt even his problem to fix.
