    ground and positive best way

I am chasing an intermittent problem with stereo turning off. Unsure if it is the IR alpine remote turning off the stereo. probably not. i think it is the stereo turning off and then turning off remote.

anyway, i think it is time to do something different then 5 or 6 wires bunched up into a wire nut shoved behind the radio.

granted i have a big positive hub where amp draws draw power from. but what is best practice for the radio, and the power antenna and power to the remotes, small things?

    Scott,

To rule out a remote issue, just unplug the remote receiver from the back of the head-unit for a short time. In the mean time, I would address any suspect wire splices or junctions first. Sounds like you have a large number of small current draw devises all wired together. I would invest in a small fuse block or BUSS bar that you can locate remotely but close. Then run a 8ga to 12 ga depending on the loads and length, to the fuse block BUSS bar to feed all those loads. This allows them to all terminate to their own spot, with maybe only a couple doubling up. Same for all their grounds, except no fuses needed. As to where to draw their power? I would grab it from the same place the amps draw from. This keeps all the audio gear seeing the same battery reference.
