G23 Sub Box Enclosure Sealed

This thread is just to post the pictures of how I had my G23 sub box enclosure sealed up for better sound quality.

Be curious to hear about the results. Is it as simple as just sealing in the box? I thought sub boxes were pretty technical and sized/ported specifically for a given sub but I don't know that much about it.

for all the guys that just want to upgrade to a much better, higer quality more robust inifinte baffle sub, keeping the price reasonable... look at the Fi IB12...

550w RMS.... vs the OEM polk standard 10" in there on 200w RMS. you will have to widen that hole out an inch or so to fit it in....

I did not do the work myself, I had a local stereo shop do the work for me. I have a JL W6 installed in it and am very happy with the results, it pounds in the boat! Only problem is the rattle coming from the air dam door ....

Sub woofers do require specific dimensions but usually there is a percentage range they will work at. We calculated it out for the W6 and it worked out to be within the range.

Schaabj- 2 questions... What's the cf of your enclosure? And could you have made it bigger without having to get crazy in the project?

I am not sure what the cf ended up being as I had a stereo guy seal it up for me and install the new sub. The false floor is at the level of the bottom of the hole so you could measure roughly to that and get a number.

I didn't see the inside before it was sealed but possibly you could seal further down to get more space. That is the stock box found in the boat however. I like keeping projects minimal and looking as close to stock as possible.
