Clarion CMD6 remote questions: Clarion MW1

this may be the wrong section but here we go:
upgraded to cmd6 last year on my 2003 SANTE 210 and the remote Clarion MW1 stopped working. It lights up and reads the songs titles but none of the buttons work. I cant control the volume or advance songs from it. Does anyone have any experience with this problem. Any advice to find the problem would help.
