Stock SAN 220 stereo is ded, now what?

My stereo is dead after 6 years. I suppose that's about how long I should expect with electronics.

Yesterday I noticed my interior speakers weren't working. I have the stock '07 SAN 220 system with momo speakers and the 2 Clarion amplifiers. The 4-channel APX480M amp is the one not working. I replaced the fuses on the back and it still doesn't have power. I tried operating the stereo in my driveway today and noticed the head unit was cutting in and out like it was losing power... maybe it was because of not enough battery power? Any guess on if this is a problem with the head unit or the amplifier?

I suppose I'll need to take it into a stereo shop this week. While there, I was thinking I could just upgrade my head unit to something more current (with blue tooth) and maybe get a couple new amps, but keep the stock speakers. Is that a bad path to go? Do any of you have a recommendation and budget estimate for a new head unit and amps?

First, rather than speculating, you need to measure for conclusive answers. You need a multimeter. Rarely are these separate issues simply a matter of coincidence unless you have low voltage or water damage.
Even though the two amplifiers are from the same brand there is no guarantee that both turn-on voltage thresholds are the same.
First, verify good voltage at the batteries, then at the source unit, and then at the amplifier primary inputs, and then on the source unit remote turn-on out. Only then can you begin to assume that you have faulty equipment.
