Out on the lake this weekend and the two in cabin speakers on the starboard side made a static noise most of the time. I could hear some audio coming through the two speakers, but very faint with the excessive static. Sometimes if I turned off the head unit and turned it back on later they would work for about 2 minutes then the static came back.
When I returned home, I checked the connections at the speakers and the HU and everything was snug. I even took a speaker from the port side and hooked it up to the starboard side where I was having the problem and got the same issue with static. The speakers that were producing the static worked fine on the port side. Is this likely an issue with the HU? Is it time to upgrade or is there something else I should be checking.
Vitals – ’06 SV211; Two amps, 4 tower speakers (6.5 Polk), 2 bow speakers (6.5 Polk) and 4 in cabin speakers (6.5 Polk) and Polk bass tube (10"?).
Please help. Thanks!
