    Stereo Problem

    Hey guys,
06 226 Team. Only my 4 front speakers are working, nothing from the rear & tower. It appears that neither amp (2 Clarions) are getting power. I say this cause of the small "power" light on each is not lit up. I checked the obvious, fuses on the amps, amp breakers at the battery selector, checked for lose wires. Any other easy things I should check...maybe another fuse somewhere?

Have a multi-meter? Check ~12v at the power into the amp. Also check the remote wire (blue wire) is connected securely to the head unit.

Yeah I've got to get a meter and as far as I can tell in the mess of wires everything including the blue wire is secure. I guess I was mostly hoping for another hidden fuse somewhere. If there is power, than blown amps? Any reason for both to blow at the same time?

Unless both got caught by serious water damage (which would likely result in blown fuses) those are reliable amplifiers and the odds are they did not go bad simultaniously. So the cause is probably an issue they have in common which is the primary B+, ground or remote turn-on lead.

I had a similar issue just the other week with only one of my amps. My issue was the battery the Amp was using for power was completely dead. Check to make sure both of your batteries have juice. Hope this helps!
