    battery recommendation for new system

I will be purchasing a Pro Mariner charging system 20 amp 2 and looking to use 2 batteries to build a audio bank. Can you recommend something to go with? This will power the stock clarion amp that powers the stock 10" sub and stock tower speakers and a jl audio 600 watt amp. Looking to upgrade to a pair of ws rev 10's and an amp in the future. Please keep that in mind.

Do you guys really notice a difference? If so what? Stereo sound better or run time?

Run time is awesome, reliability and Wet Sounds deals with them so they must be good. Actually heard that the SD amps run much better off the XS Power AGM batteries than any other battery on the market.

I am neither for or against any particular brand of battery. To suggest that a specific topology of amplifier favors a specific battery? Hmmm. Not buying it.
I am all for the added attributes of an AGM versus a lead acid even though this doesn't impact amp/hours necessarily.
When comparing a battery of the same chemistry (within AGM or lead acid), compare size, weight, amp/hours and cost. These are objective qualifiers. There are not that many actual manufacturers of batteries for a great number of consumer brands.
Having said that, I have heard nothing but great things about XS Power.

Are you kidding - Don't choke as you guzzle the Kool Aid down.... maybe you are joking???

Batteries are simple....the more the weight the longer the run time. PERIOD. It is all about Lead!!!

Yes, the XS power batteries are nice but there are other AGM's out for much less money that perform just as good or better

Take a look at the Deka 8a31DTM.

This is an AGM sealed battery that will give you 105 amp hours. I would suggest getting a pair of them. I was able to source them locally here in TX for about 230 a piece.

Just ordered some Optima Bluetop batteries. They were recommended to me by the guy at autozone. They are an AGM battery and I will let you know what I think of them. Should have them installed tomorrow.

Good luck with those....ever since they started building them Mexico the quality has been hit or miss. I used to run 4 of them boat and got great life out of them...could not pay me to run them now. If you are concerned with height another option is the Deka 9a34m - same size, same amp hour and cost 130 bucks.

Autozone - did not know that were experienced in marine 12v.

Before ordering, did you compare their Ah to other AGM batteries of similar cost?

Just bought some 4 Northstar marine group 31's they are badass. I have 3 for the stereo and 1 for the back up to start the boat if needed. They have 220 min of reserve at 25 amp. I have played my stereo for over 6 hours and the boat will still start no problem. I have had really bad luck with the Optima's. the Northstars are close to the same amount and a way better battery. They are also comparable to the Odyssey. .

MLA and nyryan---I just found a really great deal on the optimas. I think I only ended up paying ~150ish per battery. I have always been told that they are great batteries. Right now I am in a battery crisis because I have one that is completely shot and one that is pretty close so when I saw the deal on these batteries I snatched it up.
