    Ws-420 output failure

    Hi gang,
Ive been chasing and trouble shooting an intermittent and now completely failed tower speaker channel for almost a year now. I first thought it was the pro 80s/ speaker quick disconnects, replaced connections, no dice, replaced pro 80s after sending back to wet sounds and being told they were nearly junk, no dice, Reran all the wiring to the tower from the amp, no improvement, then thought it was the amp because I could switch the wiring on the amp and get the other speaker to work. Sent that back and exchanged for a refurbished unit.... This HAS to be it.... Hooked it up today went to tune it and nothing but static out of one side again! Started screwing with what I had access to and realized the output from the ws 420 only works from the left main output.

My questions are this... First off are the outputs for boat and tower connected on the ws420 because I switched from tower to boat and no fix, but I tried the sub output and Presto... I had sound out of both.

Lastly, can I "Y" off the inputs to the 420 and go direct to the amp to confirm this problem? And use my tower speakers just w/o the 420?

Thank you in advance for the advice.

I don't have your answer but I would call WetSounds. From my experience Simon there seems to be the most technical and knows a lot about the WS420.

    Good luck chasing the issue!

The WS420 has six discrete outputs, very different from a majority of EQs where the tower channel and in-boat channel are the same and simply faded.
If the sub and in-boat outputs work on that same channel then you know it's not an issue prior to the WS420.
If you reverse the tower and the in-boat RCA output of the WS420 then you will know whether the problem is within the WS420 or downstream in the signal path (RCA cable, amplifier, etc.).

It also helps to have a multimeter so you can measure whether you have a signal or not at various points....saving time and ending speculation. No more trial and error.
