Any experience mounting xantrex inverter in '08 226 ?

Looking for a little guidance for someone that has had experience mounting an inverter in their '08 226 or similarly configured CC. Where did you mount it or where is the best location balance of accessibility and protection. Appreciate the guidance! I've got a prowatt SW 1000 (4"x8"x12").

Converting from DC to AC is a brutal process and really consumes a ton of DC current. So you want the inverter as close to the batteries as possible but protected from water and out of the engine compartment. Run very heavy gauge DC cables. Once you are in the realm of the AC output a little distance doesn't matter as much.
