    2014 stereo group 210, 230, G

I was just looking at some msrp's for 2014 models, and am I reading this correctly?

    tower prep kit = 1302
    tower speakers 2 pair = 4468
    stereo level two = 1835

    total 7605.00

can you put a better system in yourself for less money?
I am not a stereo guy , but this seems very expensive.

It is very expensive considering the equipment used.

i ordered a 14 spec boat and just got the base stero, my plan is to upgrade the sounds with wet sounds down the tracks.

I'm torn between a couple different options!

please tell me the tower prep kit at least comes with an amp. it had better be a $1000 amp too. i assume cc just gets roswell's stuff b/c they do the towers(i think so anyways). it's slightly confusing to me to have clarion receiver, polk speakers and amps in the boat, then roswell stuff on the roswell tower. couldn't they keep it all uniform at least? roswell makes amps and stuff too.

I believe the tower prep kit gets you a Polk PA D4000.4 which has an MSRP of 349.95 but in the real world you can get it for 260, I would hope Nautique gets them cheaper than that in a bulk. It also has a piece of plastic to bolt the amp to and a short RCA Cable and some really really small power and ground plus a remote turn on wire and a couple of plastic connectors plus a short run of small speaker wire from the amp to the base of the tower.

Xlair is probably just about right, it could set it being close to 651 to have it done if you wanted the same thing although you would probably end up with a better grade of wire and Nautique does make it plug and play for removal and they do spend money engraving the brand name on things you don't usually see.

Its a slippery slope, you could do the same thing for less, but why spend the money and not do it right? In the end I would spend probably the same amount or more but have a much better system better amp, better wiring, add an EQ and I am up to 1300 bucks already and that's with me doing the install. Although the better wiring gets me right into the "stereo level 2" part with only the amp and speakers being needed so I can save some there and for the tower I would prefer 2 pairs of Rev 8's over the Roswell's and for half the price. I would then blow all the savings on LED's and replacing the in boat speakers with better and a custom sub enclosure etc.

why won't they just prewire the tower as an option? i'd make my dealer eat that cost if he wanted my business. those stereo prices are more ridiculous than the yearly markup.

The tower comes pre-wired even if you don't order the "tower speaker prep kit". I believe all that really gets you is an amp.

That is correct, i believe they also change the struts in the tower to counter the weight of the tower speakers I got the uprated struts with out the tower prep and tower speakers fitted.
