When we bought the boat (2008 Air Nautique 211), it came pre-wired for speakers. These are the plugs that go up under the glove box. One plug looks just like a power plug with a remote, ground, and positive wire. The other looks like all the speaker wire, but it looks like there is a power wire in that one two. In addition there is a third power wire ziptied to the harness that has a connector at the end. Can anyone tell me why there are three sources for power and why there are two plugs? Also can anyone lead me in the direction to finding a plug that would attach to these? I couldn't find anything online.

Bypass those connectors and dont look back IMO.
For the head-unit, you will need: a ground, which is the black in the 4-way flat, the yellow MEM/B+ also in that 4-way flat and then the red which is the switched/ACC also in that 4-way.
For the speaker leads, you have 4 pairs: green, purple, white and gray. tickle them to a 9V battery and you will know which one goes where as it will make the speaker crackle.
If you are installing an amp, you just need to run a small wire from the head-units blue turn-on wire to the amp. -

Also, have you taken time to study the main wiring diagram? I could not find a 2008 211 main diagram...but there is a 230 and a 236 available on this site that should be representative of your 211. By looking at these, you can learn quite a bit on your wiring.Peace..Comment

I have a 2005 SANTE with a stock stereo that I JUST changed from Clarion XMD3 to a Clarion CMD6. I referred to the wiring diagrams that are located in the "wiring diagram" section of this forum. These wire harnesses are very similar if not identical. Down load all of the wiring diagrams for the stock stereo system, and study them. I found that the three pin connector supplies +12vbat, +12vIgn, and ground. As for the 12 pin connector, I would have to double check, but I know the bow speakers (+ port bow, - port bow, + starboard bow, - starboard bow) use this connector therefore using the internal head unit amp front to drive these bow speakers. The left/right (wht/red)pre-amp front outputs are connected Clarion 2/3/4 amp which is connected to the cabin front and rear speakers (all four), this Clarion 2/3/4 amp also connects to the sub woofer. If you have the tower speakers, the non-faded pre-amp outputs are connected to the other Clarion amp. If you have questions PM me. I just finished the stereo setup in my boat. Presently I am in the house, and not in the boat in my garage, so everything that I just stated is from memory. Tomorrow, or whenever I could look at the boat to verify everything. The connectors should not be that hard to find if you wanted to use the original harness. I did use the original harness, and it was not that hard to follow. Let me know if you need help.Comment

Thanks, I think I will just get some connector pins to insert into the plugs individually. I havent decided what amp I will be using but for now I will just be powering the speakers with the head unit so the pins are a good idea for now.Comment

I hope im reading this incorrectly, but you cannot just buy the terminals, or pins if thats what you mean, and insert them into the pins on the boat harness connectors. This will not work, you need to mating connector body and the correct mating terminals.Originally posted by h2opolo View Post

You read it correctly. And yes you can. You just need to get the pins that are manufactured to be inserted into the mating connector body you speak of. I don't want the whole body because I will be changing amps soon and I don't to have to cut the wires again. Sometimes you can even find a generic banana plug that can just be inserted as well.Originally posted by MLA View PostComment
