ARC Audio 300.2 Amps w/ PAC LC-1 Line Controller

I am looking to upgrade my amp for my power hungry NVS Tyrants.

    I currently have a Zapco i-4100 Bridged Output 4 ohm @ 2 x 300W.

    I think I want to go with 2 Arc Audio (1 for each module) KS300.2 @ 700 watts Bridged x 1 Output @ 4 ohm.

My question is regarding my PAC LC-1 Line Controllers.

Can they handle that much power?

I use the LC-1 Controllers to adjust the volume between the tower speakers and the boat speakers.(2 controllers)

Thanks in advance for any input…

"Can they handle that much power?"

You are asking about the LC-1 pre-amp line level controller, right? Whatever voltage is running through your current LC-1 will not change, so yes. As noted, they are pre-amp, so only source unit voltage passes through them, not speaker level voltage.

i don't have an answer to your question, but i do have a question about the PAC controllers. i bought them during the off-season and plan to install in the spring, but it seems that i'll have to use one for each tower speaker. have you wired them differently so that they control both tower speakers off one knob? i'm also running an amp bridged to put out around 250W per channel to each of my tower speakers, but since they run off separate channels on the amp i don't see a way to use just one of the PAC controllers to control both speakers.

thanks in advance for any input!

          J,

The LC-1 is a 2 chnl line-level, meaning it has a left + and - and a right + and -. The controller will go inline on the RCA signal cable that is presently running to your tower amp. Since it sounds like you are running a 4 chnl amp bridged into 2 chnl mode, you would only need a single 2 chnl RCA from the source to the LC-1, then a single 2 chnl RCA back to the amp, just as it is now.

            Thanks guys!
I should have come up with that on my own, makes perfect sense.
            I appreciate the help!

awesome, thanks for the response. yes i do have a 4-channel amp bridged to 2-channel mode.

back at this, and wasn't able to get it to work with one knob to control both speakers. here's my setup:

head unit "front" RCA output to PAC controller input, then the same PAC output to an RCA going to my infinity reference 7541a 4-channel amp's "front" RCA input. this obviously only gets one side to work, in this case the bridged "front" speaker. therefore i have to run another RCA the same way, using the "rear" RCA output from the HU, PAC controller inline, to the "rear" channel on the amp.

am i supposed to be splitting the RCA to power both channels off of the one PAC controller? for instance, running one rca from either the front or rear HU output and then plugging one end of the RCA to each front and rear channel on the amp?

for reference, i drew up a real basic diagram of how it's currently connected, attached here.

Looks like the amp does not have a 2-chnl/4-chnl mode switch, so yes, split the RCA pair at the amp.
