Roswell underwater LED's?

HAs anyone installed or currently using the Roswell underwater lights? I know Zach favors the Shadow Caster however I was curious if anyone was using the Roswell? I know most say go with the blue however I was thinking about matching the boats red exterior. Thoughts?

green and blue are the 2 colors that penetrate the water the futhest...

I have not used Roswell or Showdow Casters... I have used Hurleys in my last boat.

Just FYI, Lifeform 9s, even at their regular advertised $360 price, are the undisputed best buy in price $ per lumen at 2,637 lumens ea. And often can be had cheaper thru their periodic promo sales... This fall I bought a pair off an add they had on Facebook a while back...I think I paid $310? just had them installed, enabled the OEM feature for control on the Link screen. very sturdy quality product. 2600 lumens is blinding.

Keep in mind OEM LEDs are around 1000 lumens ea for reference. If a manf doesnt post the tested and spec'd lumens, thats should tell you something, you dont bring a product to market and forget to test it.

Focus on the price per lumen, and try to get above 2000, aluminum housing, thermal protect... most everything else is just advertising noise.

I bought mine through Alibaba.com.... Site connects you directly to the factories in China where most are made. You use an escrow company to make sure you get your product. Been running them for 6 months and so far so good. RF remote can change the color while under power anywhere in the boat!

I look at underwater light specs like this. Lumens is mainly an unqualified specification as used which gives vendor by vendor the freedom to stretch the truth. And some really streeeeetttttccccch the truth while others are more conservative. Some are measured over a narrow beam because their light is more of a spot. But I don't want a spot. I want a flood. And if you measure a flood like you would a spot, it doesn't spec well....but it performs well.
Every different color will have a dramatically different lumen output. Rarely is this actually reflected in the specs. You often just get the best case scenario.
White, blue, and green transmit well under water. The red bandwidth is poor, especially in murky water. If your boat has a lot of red graphics or a red hull then you might consider white or blue.
With all LED lighting, the efficiency is essentially the same. So I look at amperage draw as a more realistic representation of output. Both testing and experience proves this to be a better way of judging the light power.

I got the Roswell pieces in my hands about a week ago. We hooked them up and did some side by side comparison on a boat with the SCs. It's hard to tell what is actually brighter because both just blind you no matter what. We did a wall test. What we found on the wall test is the SC seems to have a more concentrated beam spread in a small plane. The Roswell lights lit a larger area to slightly less brightness but I attribute that on the wall to the beam being less concentrated and fanning out in a more radial fashion instead of being on a more flat plane. The lumen rating on the Roswell pieces is through the roof. We have a few customers who have showed interest in these lights so hopefully here soon we will have a set in the water to give full info. Nightwater pro is the light to use if you night surf. They will not overheat like the lesser L6. If you only run the lights when you are sitting in the water than save yourself some cash and go with the L6. The Roswell lights also feature glass lenses vs polymer lenses so the longevity may be better. The SC has larger and less LED chips the Roswell has smaller and twice to 3 times as many chips.

They have a neat little connector that also comes with a long pigtail for the boat side. I threw my hand up for a size reference. That is the 4" vs the 6". That measurement is the OD of the housing not the light area size. You could heat shrink the connectors and it would seal up nicely. They require one hole for the wiring pass thru to be wired in and then two holes to hold the attaching screws from the back side. The 6" is rated at somewhere around 9000 lumens Ahhhhhh. The only color not available in the pro is red.
