Looking to upgrade my current sub which is a WS 10" mounted in the stock 08 210 enclosure. My current sub is powered with an Arc Audio XD805 which runs in boats as well. So I have 400 watts for power. I will not be using the stock enclosure but will build the box for the new sub. I really prefer a sub that hits hard over a more passive sound. Thanks.

If within the port locker, is that locker vented to allow the bass radiation to freely flow? If not are you willing to do that modification?
Are you willing to enlarge the sub enclosure and sacrifice some storage space?

400w isnt a lot of power. But reccomend you build your box as a slot ported and tuned well to your sub's specs.... and firing/venting directly into the cabin area.
You already have a good sub. Try that sub out then swap if you are still froggy.... but you can put just about ANY 10" in there...likely will only be able to notice minimal gains at best if any. On only 400w, you'll get your best gains from your box design... not from swapping to another 10"sub. I assume you have the WS SS10B?
NOW, if you have a little more money ... get yourself a decent budget 1000w 10-12" sub, on its own dedicated 1000w amp, in a slot ported box firing into the cabin.... THAT will get you into the "hit hard" category.2019 G23 450

I had an 03 210 and David installed a setup that hammered, I think they referred to the set up as side fire. Meaning it faced the wall and was installed rather close.2014 G23 450 Coastal Edition

I moved my sub in enclosed box to the back port side which made it somewhat worse but still good sounding. But then I still have room for 1100 lb sac with it back there, and sac under love seat for surfing. so no bags out ever. And frankly when out just going slow or wiping down, I pop up the seat like shown in the picture for extra bass.

This set up is pretty good power matched so does a lot for the inexpensive sub.Last edited by scottb7; 03-13-2014, 09:44 AM.

Yes it I located in the port side locker. The locker is not vented but I am willing to consider that. Yes I am willing to sacrifice some space.
Ryan,
Yes it is an WS SS10. I think might try a ported box over the stock box/ which really does nothing. Money is not a concern but prefer to not have 3 amps. I also am not keen on cutting out the area where RideButter has his mounted. But not overly opposed.2008 210 SANTE

Yeah I built it. Wooden box resin coated inside and out and rhino lined inside and out. I used marine grade adhesive from the box to the wall and then screwed through the fiberglass wall into the box.http://www.ridebutter.com
