    230 subwoofer

Want more bass in the boat and thinking replace the factory sub and put a JL Audio 10W3V3 Subwoofer in the factory location behind the drivers seat and install a new amp go to this. Or make a ported box and place behind the observer seat, but I have the factory trash can so might be difficult finding a way to let the sound escape. Ideas?

You can cut vent holes in the gel under the passenger side bench and that will work fine. You'll probably get a little more reverb but better than nothing.

The 10W3 is not going to work in the starboard side coaming at the driver's hip, if that is the position you are referencing. That is an 'infinite baffle' application and the 10W3 is dependent on the air spring trapped in a controlled enclosure, in other words, it's 'air suspension'. The JL Audio M series IB 10" is a far better choice for that location.
The JL Audio 10W3 would be perfect in a ported enclosure located in the port observer's locker. However, you must make a modification to allow the bass radiation to flow without obstruction from the port locker. Venting the door in the pass-thru walkway is one way.
Btw, one subwoofer location only, regardless of which route you select.

That JL IB sub is the bomb! Installed one last year and couldn't believe the difference that it made. Excellent choice to prevent cutting or modifications.

Thinking about the JL 10W3V3 but I have the trash can option on the side of the walk through. Ideas on how to get the sound out?

Cut a hole in your walkway and insert an acryilic style grill -

While not a 230, this does illustrate the vents that are required to allow the bass radiation to flow from the locker.

The more surface area a vent has the better it will sound.
