    15 inch sub in g23

I bought a 15 inch jbl gti mkii with intentions of trying it in the factory similar to nyryan. The sub had good reviews used as an IB sub. I chickened out.

Found out I could fit it in the back corner of the compartment with a sealed box with about 1.7 feet of volume.

This sub has a lot of paper based materials in construction, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But It sounds awesome. Really loud and low. Powered with a jl MHD 750/1

Nice job... And good use of that space.... Allows you to retain lots of storage.

could you have added another 8-10" higher on that front ledge of the box to come up flush with the fiberglass seat base?

we need MLA to pre fab these... Up to about 3cf... Slot ported and tuned to spec... He'd sell a ton of them as drop ins for DIY folks.

Just be weary of ANY sitting water down in that storage area... There is NO drain, it will sit forever down there unless you mop it out with a towel. On my last G I tried to hose out some dirt, big mistake. Might be prudent to drill a few small holes for drains along that lowest corner fiberglass seam.

Yeah could have made it higher but I was trying to make it small as possible and hold the driver.

Good point with the drain. I had one but it is now under the box.

Could defiantly build a sweet slotted box for a 12 in this spot that would be the right cf for the wetsounds xxx.

Cut the factory sub location out like Slate systems did for the amp rack in that g25 and I think surfboards will fit in easier than with factory setup.

A sealed enclosure with an irregular shape or appendages, typically has little effect on the woofers performance, but, doing a ported enclosure in that matter is a bugger, trying to get the tuning and volume calculated.

I like the use of space there. If not a sub there, its also an excellent place to put a couple extra house batteries.

That is a photo slate systems did on g25 posted on here. It will have to be cut out and will be permanently removed.
