07 SV-211 TE Tower Speaker Help

Factory stereo looking to add tower speakers. Wet Sounds ICON 8. What do you guys think and what amp will I need to run them? Will I need 2 or 4 speakers? Anyone have other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

The Icon is a great choice for a surf setup. The HT-2 is a perfect amp for one or two pair. Im powering mine with an Arc Audio XDi804 with an available 240W rms x 2. A Kicker KMX400.4 would also be a solid option @ 200W rms X 2.

surf setup meaning they are better for close range vs say the rev 8 or 10 which project farther out to say the distance of a wake board rope length. Looking for an upgrade as well but I don't want to be heard across from the lake.

Yes. The traditional coaxial Icon-8 is best for near-field listening like surfing or the party cove, where as an HLCD is best at projecting a narrower cone.

Both can be heard across the lake. The difference is, the coaxial will just disperse the volume in a wider pattern and the HLCD is a more marrow, concentrated pattern. This it what makes the HLCD better for wake range projection.

I power my Icons with a Syn2. Could not be happier with that combo.
