Transom Remotes 2014 SANs with the Polk Head Unit

    Team-

Thought I would share for those of you who have 2014s with the new Polk Head Units....

When I had my G23 built I was super stingy on options to keep the price down... So I did not opt for the remote at $450 for the simple round one.

I've been watching them at different vendors for the last 9 months..... There are 2 versions ... A simple round one, and an upgraded one with display and more control features.... The PRC200.... I wanted the 200 version. It's been in the $170+ range plus another $30 for the Y cable to tap in.

Of all places, Walmart.com had it for $112, and ships for $4. All you need is the Y cable which that have for an additional $15. The PRC200 comes with an 18ft cord.... So $135 and you are done. Roughly $60 cheaper than anywhere else. I was worried it was a mistake and I would get the small round one.... But it's the real deal. Tickled pink.

Mount it high and where a hip or knee will not raise the volume or change the track when mounting a board. I think the factory installs them too low.

This is one of the things that perplexes me about my 2014. Transom remote without a screen to see what is happening?!?!

Pucker factor was high this weekend drilling a 1.75" hole there in that panel for the transom remote..... just FYI, seriously doubt if you have the OEM circle remote you will be able to just swap this one in. This bigger one is too thick for that space.

Where the OEM circle remote is.... is too low, and with this thicker rectangle remote.... the cooler lid will hit it when you open it. I could not mount this in OEM location, I had to mount it higher and further back to avoid the lid hitting it when open, and to avoid drilling the the plastic compartment cover on ths inside for the rear chrome vents.
