    Dumb question

So just sitting in the boat for the first time, on a 2013 210 and playing with the stereo, how come the in boat speakers cut out when I put the volume over 23. The tower speakers stay on but not the in boat speakers.what is wrong?

Also is there aux import other than the USB ?

On ours there is an Aux input for headphone to headphone in the glove box and in the little pocket to the left of the setting wheel. There is a flip open cover with a USB and a headphone input. Not sure what to tell you about the speakers clipping out.

There are a lot of settings in the radio once you get in including loudness settings.

So when I turn it up the boat speaker amp goes into protection mode. What does that mean?

^^^ this is not right, you have an issue.

I know on the 2013 Gs there was an AUX input grounding issue on an AUX input mounting plate... that would get worse as you turned up the volume and could put the stereo into protect.... suggest you call your dealer.

Loose suggestion would be that you have a stereo wire grounded somewhere.

One quick way to diagnose is to

remove all the aux inputs and remote control inputs and crank the volume up manually at the head unit--- see if the speakers cut out into protect--would verify if you have a grounded RCA at your AUX ins

disconnect your right speaker wires at the amp... then reconnect and then the left... and crank each of them up.... that'll determine if you have a speaker wire grounded down stream.

Your amp is probably dying. I had the same problem and had to replace mine (under warranty).

I got onto settings that cleared mine up but in all honesty these guys are right and it could possibly be all of these things. I'm curious about the bad amp tho. I had no volume and when I turned it up it cut out but after finding the loudness settings it was better but in all honesty my 2011 Sport sounded way better

Would it be because I didn't have the boat on? just wondering if there is enough power to drive the amp.

I would say this is a very real possibility. The battery is likely low. I would check and charge the battery(s) and then play the system again. Incorrectly wired load on any of the chnls will put the amp into protect mode as well.

I agree with MLA. I've had this happen before with the boat off and the batteries low.

i would still check out all the other suggestions as well.

I believe it's a power issue. Stick a voltmeter on battery and see what it is. Amps will get hot without correct power.

so I charged the batteries and tried it again. There was no change. I noticed that when the in boat speakers amp kicks off into protect mode, the led lights on the tower speakers would start blinking. Is this normal or just a new disco feature.

Did you measure the voltage of the batteries? You can air up a leaking tire all you want, its still a leaking tire. You can charge a bad battery and its still a bad battery.

I guess I need to get a voltage meter tomorrow. What is the reading I need.

Is the light issue on the tower speakers normal?
