Getting ready to rewire my entire system as my local marine av company did a less than acceptable job last May.
I have everything planned and laid out but want to use the boat's (08 210) battery switch as my positive source instead of going directly to my port battery positive. I will go directly to the port battery negative, so in theory I have everything going from the same source. I just want to have the benefit of being able to still cut off the power to everything through the boats switch. Will this approach work?
Second question... Should I just terminate the stock amp power and ground wires and seal accordingly for future owner etc ? I will be using 1 awg wire going from switch to distribution blocks and 4 awg from blocks to fuses to amps respectively.
