    2005 SANTE 210 - Subwoofer Replacement (Polk/momo)

I have not actually received my 2005 SANTE yet (it arrived at dealership yesterday, its in make ready until thursday). I am worried the factory Team Edition Polk/Momo sub wont be enough bass satisfy me. Does anyone have any experience replacing just the sub? Has anyone "added" a sub to a SANTE? I'm not concerned with taking up storage space, as the boat has quite a bit anyway.

    Thanks.

would suggest image dynamic idq series... super high sound quality, easy to drive, small space requirements, one piece surround... and very reasonably priced.

Have you HEARD the Polk subwoofer? To me it sounds REALLY good. I have to turn the sub down most of the time. I now it is not the quality as Kicker, or some others - but, I would suggest adding a sub rather than replacing the one that is in there - there are lots of guys on this board that have done that.

I am selling these sub boxe\storage units. I think they sound great. I have sold a bunch and everyone has been happy so far. Attached is a pic. It is a sealed 1 cu.ft volume with a 6.5 inch set back. So far, everyone has put a 10 inch sub in there, but you could go with 12 if the depth is less than 6.5 inches. Personally, I used a JL Audio 10w3.2 and is sounds great.

The storage area is big enough for suntan lotion, cleaner bottles, rags, ropes, etc. The cup holders are the same as the original sorage unit.

The boxes are made of 3/4 inch MDF with the inside fully painted and the exterior coated with a fiberglass resin.

Where did you buy your boat?

on the super air there a chunk of fiberglass that the vertical board is mounted to. Removing it is a pain and is very messy, since you have to cut through fiberglass. Mounting a sub there was mu first choice, but after talking with local stereo guys, I decided against it.

It only took me about an hour to cut out the "foot rest" and lay down a number of layers of fiberglass. I plan to put a sub up under there as well as a dry storage bin for keys phones etc...

i like both ideas....mount one at the drivers feet and the other in manufactured seat....

I have the extra sub box in place of the ice chest above.. It's nice having an extra one. I'm running the JL 10w3V2. I took out the two factory amps and replaced it with one big one. My amp is over heating though after time so I think I am going to reinstall one of the factory amps just for the subs. It also would probably help me to install a fan.

UncleJesse - Can you come up with something for a 2004 Sv211. I pulled thefiberglass crap out this weekend when the clarion sub's cone seperated from the rubber. I do not even have the bass turn 1/2 way up. I think it was broke from the beg. If something could be made for under the seat opposite the cooler I would be interested. Let me know.

Right now, no. I only have sub boxes for the SAN for years 2002-current. 2001 and 2000 may work, but I'm not sure.

The boxes are very time consuming to make from scratch. Maybe this winter I could do something.

I do have 7 more boxes though. If anyone is interested PM me or call Central Valley Marine in Cambell, Ca. They are selling them for me.
