    Quick Connect/Disconnect?

So I've had my 05 SANTE about 2 months now. The previous owner wired in tower speakers. When he wired them he didn't add a quick connect/disconnect so the tower could be folded down for storage. Was wondering if anyone can suggest a marine grade solution to my problem?
    Thanks

This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but you should re-run the wire up the forward legs of the tower. That way, no disconnects are needed when you fold the tower.

Definetly not what I wanted to hear .

Maybe I'll attempt that as a winter project.

I've used these on some outdoor signs and they hold up nicely. They come in 1,2,3 and 4 way, 4 square and 6 way. I have seen some of them at Pepboys. Mostly the 2 way only. Rewiring might be best but these do work in harsh environments.

So if I did decide to re-route the speaker wire, would I just plug the holes the previous owner drilled in the tower with rubber grommets or something?
Also how would a guy route the wire around the hinge on the forward legs and make it look clean?

You can get a wide variety of Weatherpack, Deutsch or other waterproof connectors for less than 6-7 bucks if you search ebay you can find 4 pin connectors for as little as a dollar, just make sure you get one that will work with the wire gauge you have. I would go that route at least to get you through to winter... and if it works long term just leave it. For a visible area like that I would look for one of the less obtrusive square ones though. The holes in the tower are already there and even capped it would be visible. I also hate the look of those plastic split looms, so I would probably take the opportunity to replace them with some techflex or other braided sleeve and some heat shrink.

If you go that route and you don't spring for one of the fancy crimp tools you can always solder your wires in the pin connections and then crimp or fold with what you have to get them to fit in the housing.
