    G23 interior speaker upgrade?

I have 2013 g23 and I replaced the the tower speakers with 2 rev10's and the amps with Rockford Fosgate T1000-4AD
1000W 4-Channel Class AD Power Series Constant Power Amplifier for all of the highs. I have 2 channels on the tower and all of the interior on the other 2 due to the fact that it is 1ohm stable. I put a ported pro box with a kicker cvx in the port locker with a rockford p500 on it and It flat out rocks.. The question I have is it worth it to replace the polk interior speakers with the jl mx 6.5 it sounds good I just think it is missing a little on the high end.
    Thanks for honest input.

Do you want to sell the factory tower speakers?
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
    2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)

If you are considering JL Audio, then I would say go for it if you can afford them. The interior speaker is the main source of everything you hear while sitting. My boat is older and sometimes you do not want to spend more money on a used boat otherwise I would also spring for JL Audio too.
That being said I would be interested in your stock Polk speakers when you decide to upgrade.

What about Focals instead of JL's? Has anyone compared the two

That is always going to be the debate between a soft textile dome and a hard metal dome. It's not a matter of high frequency extension but more a matter of treble accentuation and aggressiveness with the hard metal dome. The JL Audio soft dome is going to have a significantly lower resonance with a smoother mid-treble. For vocals it's JL Audio all the way. For a bit of extra emphasis that adds a sense of brilliance and distinction go with a metal dome.
You will find exceptions to either, as some of this difference is determined by how the brand elects to voice their speaker.

I have....extensively. You really have to hear the two for yourself. It's subjective. JL Audio has a targeted balance that they consistently adhere to from top to bottom models. It is very linear without any false emphasis. Focal has a little different sound that is more upfront, particularly in the midrange of some models. I see more series to series deviation with Focal so you can't make a blanket statement with Focal.
Focal does not make a marine speaker. But neither is the present Polk OEM series. If marine isn't an issue then audition JL Audio, Focal, Audison, and Hertz for SQ purity.

I switched from the Polks to the JL MX 6.5s and was amazed by how they sound. Much smoother at higher volume, and with the Rev 10s, it will sound great.

I had memphis in my last boat they sounded great and I loved the hard treble. Yet I notice I do not like that as much anymore when loud for any length of time it became harsh. I have heard good things about the JL Yet I have only heard them personally once. And without an amp and they sounded great to me. The polk sound pretty good and most will say great yet I know it could sound a better. I feel I have to really turn it up for them to sound really good and I want it to be more balanced at all Volumes.

Same David but I retired a little over a year ago. But contact Odin in Earmark Plano/on-line store. He is a great resource.

What would be the real difference in the the mx vs the m series? Are the M worth the extra money?

I never listened to stock stereo. First had wet sounds in, then replaced w JL. I like the sound of JL better. Not as bright sounding. Very smooth not harsh at any volume.

It sounded really good with the stock yet the jl to me is about as good as it gets. I can turn it up as loud as I want and it stays crystal clear. It is too loud to turn all the way up, absolutely amazing. I am done with the stereo, I could trow another set or rev10's up yet I think it would be over kill.
