So just purchased a 2001 super air Nautique a few months back and I am noticing when I turn over the engine to start it if the radio is on I'm getting the engine starting noise coming through the speakers. So hearing that I figure I'll looked in see how the past owner wired up the second battery for the stereo. And what I'm seeing is the stock battery hooked up to the main harness of the boat and the second hooked up straight to all the amps with a solenoid hooking the two battery's together. Once I turn the main switch under my feet on and type in the code and hit start the solenoid receives power and combines the two.
Now my questions is this a good way to have it? My guess is my engine noise I'm getting is because the two batters are combined while starting. I looked up the blue sea add a battery and I think this would take care of my issue but not totally sure.
