CMD5: Anyone looking for a New Clarion CMD5 head unit / radio?

I found this eBay ad. He has a total of 5 new Clarion CMD5 units but with no box. He said they are not refurbished and are 100% brand new. I purchased one of them and it should arrive next week. I wanted to pass this along since I am sure there are more people out there that needed to retain the CMD5 head unit in order for the existing wired remote in the dash to function. Hope this helps.

I'm looking at an M303 receiver with Bluetooth. Did you check this out? I found a refurbished one for $150 and free shipping. I started looking at this because it looks like a special adapter is needed to operate the ipod with the CMD5.

I currently have the CMD5 and there is no special adapter needed to play music from my iphone 5. I just have to plug an AUX cable into the AUX outlet and then plug the other end into the iPhones headphone jack. Ironically today I have been doing research on some bluetooth modules to use with this radio. Per the reviews, the fusion MS-BT100 seems to work well with all radios and it only runs $44 or so on amazon. FYI amazon sells the M303 radio brand new for $153 with free shipping. Better deal than the refurbished one in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. I did see the M303 on Amazon after my previous post. Free 2-day shipping with my Prime membership also. I'm still leaning that direction. I'm also trying to decide on speakers and whether I should an an amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Today I installed the Clarion CMD5 that I purchased off of eBay and everything worked perfectly. I could clearly see that the radio was truly brand new. Great deal!

I have the CMD5 in my SV211 and the M303 in my Ski Nautique. The 303 has lots of great features, Bluetooth being the most significant. The volume knob on the 303 is also a great feature. If you need a large format deck go with the CMD5 or later, if you have on older in dash mount like my 98SN I would recommend the M303.

On amazon I read that some people left bad reviews regarding the M303 frying after it had contact with a small amount of water.

(Thus, no working remote)I just want to replace the deck so I don't have to wire a remote all the way through...and use the old one.

From what I have read, no. I think you would have to upgrade to the MW1 remote.

The M303 needs either the new style remote or there is an adapter cord that wires the old remote to the new new M303. i found both on Amazon.
