Anyone know what this is plugged into my Clarion CMD5?

It is plugged into the Y splitter. It almost looks like a remote receiver or bluetooth module. My boat is a 2009 so I assume it didn't come with any bluetooth capabilities.
    Any suggestions?

It actually looks like the RF adapter I have in my boat for my Clarion MF1 remote. It allows you to use that remote up to 100ft away with no direct line of sight. The fact it's added to your current remote y splitter leads me to believe it's that not the Bluetooth. Every Bluetooth I have seen on a Clarion device hooks into a different port. There is no way for an adio signal to be transferred through the remote line and played through the receiver.

My radio, CMD5, isn't compatible with the MF1 remote. That's one more reason why I am puzzled on this.

On the clarion website it states that the CMD5 model isn't compatible with the MF1 remote. Did you alter the remote or modify the kit to make it work or does it work automatically?

I known it's says it won't work but it does. I bought my boat used and it was on there. No mods as it plugs right into the back of the stereo. I don't have an intergrated iPod unit. Maybe if I did it wouldn't have all the controls. So possibly it may not work to that extent. However for raising/lowing the volume and skipping tracks on the CD player it works. The previous owner disconnected the factory remote and added this. I just purchased a remote Y splitter to be able to use both and it works perfectly. I am 100% sure I have the CMD 5 as it's stamped in the front. I haven't a clue why clarion says it's not compatible (which I know it does) but it seems to work for my basic functions.

I'll try and snap some pics and a video if you like in action

Did you have the MF1 remote as well? If not, do you know what remote you had?
