I'm getting ready to install a stereo in my 1994 Ski Nautique (closed bow). It has never had a stereo in it, but has the (4) speaker cutouts, a waterproof cover in the dash on the drivers side, and appears to have the wiring already in place. At the back of the waterproof cover, there's a plug, square white plastic with alot of wires including speaker wires coming into it and nine holes at the front where you would plug into it. My question is, I assume that CC prewired these boats for the stereo, but what kind of adapter should I need to plug a Kenwood or Pioneer deck into that plug. If its just an adapter, seems like it would be a pretty easy install. Any ideas?

94 SN stereo install
Dude I have a 94 SNOB. It came with a stereo but I have replaced it twice. I believe you need to get the matching adapter (white connector) with the dead end wires on the end. You need to connect those wires to your boat, weather it's the speaker wires, power wire or ground wire. I don't know if they would have run speaker wires if the boat didn't come equipped with a stereo.
Good Luck!

94 SN stereo connector
Thanks for the reply to my thread. I didn't notice that you had close to the same thing posted until I checked to see if my thread was on the board. Anyway, the speakers are definitely prewired in my boat as well; I traced them back to the cutouts. A radio was never installed in my boat before either. I looked at the Metra site. Unfortunately, they only list car manufactures for their harnesses. It will probably be easier to just cut out correct craft's harness and wire it directly to the stereo plug wires than going through all of Metra's links to look at connector images. The only trouble with cutting it out will be stripping and soldering 12 wires in a cramped area. I'll let you know if I find the manufacturer of the connector for mine though. Good luck.

RE: 94 SN stereo connector
I believe that's a standard Molex connector, maybe something like this?

RE: 94 SN stereo connector
Here is a detailed write-up of the system I installed in my 95 SN-CB in case you want some ideas. Even if you are not really into bass, a moderate subwoofer really helps fill the boat with a nice sounding system.

I just installed my stereo in my 94 ski closed bow. It wasnt hard at all. I didnt have the harness so i just cut it off. The "cramped area" isnt so bad. The spring loaded cover for the radio has four screws and comes right out really easily. This gives you a lot more room to work with. I also found that the wires were of decent length and almost allowed me to work on map lap as I installed it. Hope that helps. MG.
