I'm sure that David is correct, but the JL rep said that the amp is no longer full range and would not sound as good as the prior model and recommended that I use the 600/4. But I didn't want that amp for this particular purpose and don't know enough to ignore the rep's statements about the 750/1, so I want with the Arc.

As indicated initially you will be very happy with the performance of the Arc 600.2. I have mine pushing 2 WetSounds Pro485s and they scream!!! Let us know when you get it all installed and what you think.2008 210 SANTE

The reason the JL Audio HD750/1 has done so well as a tower speaker amplifier is that it is still 375 watts to each of two speakers (which is conservatively rated at that) regardless of voltage, impedance, and well still do it's power numbers across a wide bandwidth.
With most other amplifiers you have major power declines from 2 to 4-ohms, from 14.4 to 12 volts, and at a full spectrum bandwidth, as oppose to just 1 kHz. With the J Audio HD the power is "every scenario" versus "best case under conditions that you cannot create or very limited conditions that aren't real world".

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd tag on to this Rev10 thread.
I just purchased some gently used wetsounds- 3 pair 650s, 1pair Rev10s, and an SD4.
Seems like the SD4 is not really optimal... too much for one pair of rev10s and not enough for al 650s.
to keep it simple, could I go with an SD6 for the cabins, and SD2 for the tower...sell the SD4?

Keep the SD-4 and add an SD-6 as its not much more than an SD-2.
2 pair of 650's on the SD-4 @ 185w rms to each. 3rd pair on 2 chnls of the SD-6 for 185W rms. This leaves 4 open chnls to run the Rev-10 bridged for 585W available for each.

Thanks. That makes sense. It lowers the overall power to the tower from 685 to 585. And delivers the same 185 to all cabin speakers. The only difference I see in the specs is the 95A vs. which I don't understand.
SD6 Stereo @ 4 Ohms - 6 x 185 Watts @ 95A
SD4 Stereo @ 4 Ohms - 4 x 185 Watts @ 60A
