They came with the XMD-1.

Will the remote in the 2003's work with the CMD4's? or with the XMD3's for that matter.

Not sure about the remotes. What's wrong with the XMD-1? Are you looking for aux inputs?

I had the XMD-1 in my '01 SAN and replaced it with the XMD-3. I really liked having the Sub control and the Aux input. Jeff, do you still have the XMD-1? I think I am going to really miss having the glove box cooler and the stereo nearby but we will see.

XMD-3 in 2003 SANTE

Yeah, I still have the XMD-1. I used forum member A&B's method for adding an aux input to the XMD-1, and it has worked extremely well. Check out the procedure HERE.
