Remote for XMD2, will the XMD3 work

Hi Stereo gurus, just a quick question, will the remote for a XMD3 work on a XMD2 ???

The boat is a little far away to test it out.

I'm almost positive it will work, I went from a XMD1 to a CMD4 and it all worked except for the mute function. For those models I'm 99% sure the IR protocol is the exact same.
