    Sub Install Finally Done

Just wanted to to share my first winter project with everyone. I have to give a lot of credit to Gotwake and Clay at sound illusions. They spent the time to answer all of my question and share photos of thier install. I know Im not professional and my install doesnt look like either of thers but im pretty happy with it.
I also have to say to anyone who has taken out that hump of fiberglass have a lot of respect fopr you. It is not an easy project and take a lot of planning and time if you want it done right. I will post more pictures when I have a chance to take more.

    Thanks again Ken and Clay.

Nice job and congrats! You've got to feel good about doing it yourself. (And to be done with working in the "hole" as we called it.) Although it may be a little harder than most projects, it sure is worth it. Congrats again!

        Dimensions

That looks GREAT. I understand completely about how it looks. There are some on here like nautiqueJeff, gotwake, etc. that do a better job than taking to others. I on the other hand am happy if it looks ok and WORKS .

I was wondering if you could post a crude picture with dimensions? I have a 10" sub that I want to put there, but I don't want to remove the hump, just use it to extend the panel out more. Additionally, what does the back of it look like? I was thinking of just mounting my sub without a box over it, but I was told - NO ...

My boat is 2004 SAN 210 - what is yours?

          RE: Dimensions

Really, taking that hump out is not a huge deal. It does not add to the structure of the boat, and if you only cut it out flush with the bottom of the floor fiberglass, and bevel the edges about 2-3 inches, and layup a new section of fiberglass that ends up even with the surrounding floor, it will add back as much strength as you take out. Planning around the hump is alot harder than just removing it.

          BTW, good job Roddbod

            Jwhposon,
I have to agree with ag4ever. It would be much better just to cut out the hump. I dont know how you would fit a sub in there without taking it out. I will take a few pictures this thursday. I am going to be removing the 10" and be putting a 12" solobaric in there. The 10 just doesnt have enough boom fo me. My boat is also an 04 210. Will get the pics up asap.

            Ag4ever, thanks for the comment.
