    2015 G boat stereo questions

A 2015 G boat without any stereo upgrades except tower prep and single pair of horn drivers will include what?
Will it have only ONE amp?
Will same amp run all speakers?
What happens with you add level three stereo?

thanks for the help, i just don't know a thing about stereo except it seems very expensive from the factory.

I have a 2015 210 on order. I ordered everything except the tower speakers so I'll get 2 amps, sub, 6 boat speakers. The dealer is replacing both amps and adding Neptune tower speakers. This was a simple way to upgrade the stereo and spend less than the factory set up. Did you fill out a build sheet? Normally one amp runs the boat speakers and one does the tower.

Below is what I was told recently, but something does not make sense based on above. Because if below is true then you would only be getting one amp, unless you got tower speaker prep kit the purpose of which is so you can just add tower speakers. But if you planned on just replacing the amps anyways then I don't see how it would have made sense to get the tower speaker prep kit. I will be curious to understand better.
This is what comes standard within the boat:
In Boat Speakers - 6 Polk DXI 651
Sub- Polk MM Ultra Marine 10"
      Amps- 1- PA5000.5
Boat tower is still pre-wired if you wanted to add your own amps and speakers
If you do tower speaker prep-kit:
Add Amp-1- PA4000.4 wired for tower speakers
Add factory speakers Ala Carte per order
If you add Level III Sound system:
Adds two additional Amps (4 total)
      Adds tweeter on Helm
      Adds module for zone control
      Same head unit

I'm picking up mine Friday and can report back. I ordered just the stock stereo setup--nothing extra as I'm going after market for the tower speakers.

It has been confirmed. Stock stereo includes one amp. If you add tower Prep kit as option, you will have two amps and no tower speakers.

It helps at all, my understanding is that the 4 speakers in the **** pit (so to speak) are hooked up to the one provided amp, and the 2 bow speakers are hooked up directly to the head unit.

            Here are amp specs:
            • PA Series 5-Channel Class D Car Amplifier
            • 4 ohms: 70 watts x 4 chan. + 200 watts x 1 chan. | 2 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. + 400 watts x 1 chan.
            • Subwoofer Channel (1 ohms): 500 watts x 1 chan.
            • High-speed MOSFET power supply
            • Dimensions: 13-5/16"L x 6-3/4"W x 1-13/16"H

            Speaker specs:

            RMS Power Range (Watts) 6-60
            Peak Power Handling (Watts)180
            Impedance (Ohms) 4

I´ve got a G21 with basic equipment. 1 amp, 1 subwoofer, 6 speakers. The tower is prewired. Yes, the holes are there...

yes tower is prewired, but was the tower prep kit ordered as option? If so, you should have another amp sitting there ready to go to tower speakers if you ever add them.

                  You'll have 2 amps.

Polk pa 5000.5 for the inboats and the sub.

Polk pa 4000.4 for the tower horns.

I briefly looked at the tower speaker wiring and they appeared to be very small gauge wires, insufficient for as much power as I am wanting to put up there. Can anyone confirm what size wire is up there? I didn't pull them all the way out for fear I might not get it back in the way it was, so I could be mistaken, but I would guess 16 gauge.

From the factory mine had 2 amps. 4 channel 4000.4 powers the two bow speakers and the 2 tower speakers. 5 channel 5000.5 pushes the 4 cabin plus the sub. Not a G. But likely similar as it was a factory installed 230

you sure about that? Bow should be on channels 1&2 of the 5000.5 with the cockpit running at 2 ohms on channels 3&4, then the 4000.4 only running to the tower.

How bout a 3rd option......ive seen a 230 and a 210, both of the Polk amp generation, with the bow speakers still on the head-unit. They were amp'd once we were done.

But to answer TRR's question, I think its 14ga. but dont recall for sure. The last 3 through got re-wired to 12ga anyway due to the planned amp.

Yep. Don't know why. But i took it apart last weekend and that's how it was set up. Maybe because I only have the 6.5 Polk tower speakers and not the horns? Tommy your approach seems way more ideal... Especially if I upgrade to wet sounds on the tower it'd be great to rewire as you described and not need to buy a new amp.

Yep, my 2012 210 came with the 4 6.5's in the main cabin on the 5 channel along with the sub and the bow speakers running off the deck. The 4 channel had the 2 HLCD's on 2 channels and the 6.5's on the lower tower on the other 2. Seemed odd having 8 identical speakers and 2 are on ~45 watts, 4 on ~70 watts and 2 on ~125 watts. Seems like it depends on your individual setup a bit as to how things were wired.
