Nautique Speed Based Volume Control v. HSE Revolution

How well does the LINC speed-based auto volume control work? Is it as good as an HSE Revolution control?

I played with the LINC based system a little bit over the weekend and it seems to work fairly well, but I only have in-boat speakers hooked up and I had some difficulty getting happy with the range from low to higher volume. I'm afraid it might seem less effective once I get the rest of the stereo installed.

When I have Rev10, ws420 and new amps installed, I'm wondering if I should also install an HSE Revolution (...I have one from a previous boat...) or if I should just rely on the LINC system. I know I can always add it later, but if I'm going to need it, I'd rather take care of everything all at once.

    What do you guys think?

The LINC system works pretty well. Every now and again I play with the sensitivity then forget about it for a while so it must be working well if I forget about it.

The HSE was great and amazing at the time when it came out. Is it better? Maybe, but personal preference comes in to it.

Do you need the HSE in a new boat? Not really - The LINC system is fine. It may be interesting to try both systems back to back but I would probably leave the HSE on the shelf as it is adding another component for not much gain.
