Install 2006 Factory Clarion CDM4 and sep. amp into 1996 Super Sport

I just acquired a perfectly good OEM factory head unit and separate Amp from a 2006 SANTE with CDM4 head unit. I want to install this in my 1996 Super Sport. Anyone with experience on this? Will the large face fit into the space already there on the Dash or will I have to do some modifications? Seems like a simple install with manuals available on-line and in-print.

It should fit the opening in the dash as the chassis appears to be standard DIN size. The face of the CMD4 is much bigger than single DIN so I don't think the factory splash cover will work but it should fit the opening.

Thanks! I've got to figure out how to wire this whole thing up when I get the boat back from the detailer. I haven't messed with 12V audio since the 80's. Eeeek

Ok, I smartly elected to have Premium Sound, a nearby audio installer put the head unit, new face plate needed, and the amp into the boat the other day. Now I have a professionally installed foundation for future mods. I'm very pleased with their work, and now it is clear I need new house speakers for the boat. I'm likely to buy Polk MM651UM speakers, since they are rated very high, and are not out of reach, budget-wise. I'm also adding the Bluetooth module that Swatguy recommended so highly.

I can see one thing clearly....while I might be reasonably capable of complex projects, I prefer the skills of professionals on some things where inexperience or willingness to accept the shortcomings of my own experience are not a sacrifice I want to make on this boat. On my first boat, a semi-project Supra Mariah, this was rarely the case, since I had so little invested in the basic boat. Things change. I suppose when I upgrade next time, it will be to an even more complex boat, e.g. SANTE or 211V.
