Upgrading Stereo on 98 Air Nautique

Hey guys, looking for advice on what to do for a good stereo. Have buddies with some wetsounds and love the way they sound in the boat and behind it. Main upgrade I'm looking to do is add 2 tower speakers, and I thought a couple REV8's would look and sound pretty good on my FCT Gen 1 Tower. Was wondering if the rev 8s will fit on that tower or if I'll need to buy some spacers to go inside the clamp to make it fit the smaller diameter tower than later models, atleast I think it's smaller diameter?? I've heard that they sound much better if you actually use the wet sound amp to power the speakers. Anybody agree or disagree with that? The interior has 3 speakers and I am planning on replacing those as well but not sure if I want to shell out the big bucks for wetsounds on the interior. I put polk audio in my old mastercraft and they sounded good. I'm not big into having the sub for bass, so I'm not sure I'll put one in. So for 3 interior speakers and then the two REV8's would I be better off having a separate amp for just the tower speakers and then another amp for the 3 interior speakers?
Let me know your opinions on the best options without getting too crazy on the pocket book! Thanks!

The REV8s come with spacers to mount on the 1.75" tower. I have a FCT Gen 2 and the REV8s mount just fine.

Hmmmm I think the FCT Gent 1 might be smaller diameter than the Gen 2...I could be wrong though, the tall rigid shape may be throwing my judgement off. Also the upper portion of the Gen 2 may be smaller diameter than the base?? That could be where I'm getting thrown off.

Check the Wet Sounds accessory page. Looks like they have clamp options all the way down to 1".

For a tower under 2", I would order with the TC3 mini. They come in fixed and swivel. They will sound best with proper power and proper tune on a quality amp. For a pair of Rev-8, the HT-4 is a solid choice. For the interior, go with another HT-4 or HT-6 and add a mild 10 or 12 sub.

I just have the 3 interior speakers and then the previous owner put a speaker or sub or something in the kick panel near drivers feet. If it is a sub, it is not enclosed and I don't think it even works. The boat has 2 amps in it now, one was for the tower speakers that were on the boat before I bought it. I'm no genius when it comes to stereo systems. My plan is to just get rid of all the old crap and start over.
