I didn't change anything, just pulled the boat out of storage and put the batteries in it. Turned the stereo on and the volume is very low. I turn it up all the way until the HU maxes out and it is still very soft, not even load enough to hear over the engine noise at cruising speed. Any ideas what this could be? Its driving me crazy. HU is a Kenwood KDC-X491.

Yes, 3. I have checked and all have power and are turning on. I messed with the gains a little, but it did not help. Also, I have double checked and mute is not on . If it was only one zone, I might think an amp, but all 3 (tower, in boat, sub) are acting the same, so I think it must be the signal coming into the amps. I also have an old EQ (Zapco I think). Volume is all the way up on that as well.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was going to eliminate the EQ, but it is running RCAs from the head unit to EQ, but what looks like a S-video cable from the EQ to the "Balanced" input on the amps. I don't have any RCAs to make the longer runs.
A little breakthrough, though.
I did have the subs disconnected from the amp because I needed them out of the way to install the battery. I hooked them back up out of curiosity and everything sounds great again. I have no idea why. I guess at this point its not a big deal, but any reason why this would happen? The subs (2x JL W6) are run off their own monoblock amp (JL 600.1), so I am not sure why having them disconnected would affect the level of the other speakers.
