    LED lighting question

Have a 2003 SANTE and want to replace the dim factory courtesy lights with some brighter LEDs. I don't mind rewiring for them but was wondering if they made a replacement LED bulb that would just fit in the factory light sockets. Anyone found anything like that? If not what product did you use to replace your factory lights with LEDs. White is fine but would prefer red to match the boat.

I just bought some replacement LED pods from Oznium.com I think it was and replaced the factory assembly. You could probably find replacement bulbs these day as that was many years ago.

I swapped out all of those with Red waterproof LED strips. Something like this: http://smile.amazon.com/Lampux-Flexi...d+light+strips

Takes some soldering but was great once it was done. Here are some crappy cell pics, but the gist of it is that I could tap into all of the existing wiring and it worked off the switch perfectly.

      Good luck!

I'll take a $9 upgrade all day long. Still have to put them in the lockers, glove box, and under the helm. Soldering gun quit on me last night.

I'm thinking about adding lights that shine down on the floor too to even it out. If anyone has a lead on those hook me up with a link please.

I did the the rgb strips through out the whole G I just hot glued them up above all the areas where the cup holders and around the speakers. I put the music controller so I can have it change to the music or pick any color or have it fade. It came out great and made a huge difference to the night atmosphere.

for those that would like to just replace the bulbs themselves with LED equivalents, here is a link to many variety of "wedge base" LED's. they come in most colors. i ordered several to go in the factory sockets, and then will supplement with strips where necessary.

I was looking at that one... Couple quick questions specific to that controller-
Did you wire that as 3 separate channels (ie 1 for cupholders, 1 for speakers, and one for courtesy/accessories)?
Can you control each channel individually?
Can you have them all on one color ie red, but with or without music influence?
                      Thanks

I ran each side on a channel speakers and all other lights each channel can handle I believe 2 strips I still have 1 free channel and you can pick any color yet all channels are the same color at the same time you can do a ton of options you will be happy

So the channels don't opperate differently from one another? The three channels are just to divide the amps? Or they act independently just at different rates of the same color?
Sorry for so many questions... Its just that I already bought one that I'm not happy with.

IIRC, if you want a simple on/off you can splice into the factory aux switch via an ECU pin out that is located under the dash (at least it is on a lot of SANs). this depends on the year. but the wiring diagrams in the letter head of the site should be able to show you where they need to go. or you could tap into any courtesy light 12V + if you want them switched with the other lights.
