Need help - 2013 200v upgraded to CDM8 (from CDM7) and now LINC Controls don't work

I upgraded my CMD7 to the CMD8 because I had the sirius adapter to work with the CMD8, already. And, the unit for the CMD7 wasn't readily available. The unit works great and the transom remote works fine. The LINC stereo interface controls volume (up down and mute), but the channel and source buttons don't work and it isn't displaying the volume/track/channel info that it did with the '7.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for the mistake in the title. The stereos referenced are CMD7 and CMD8s.
