Link 2.0 straight to full volume

Anyone ever had this issue? I can be on volume level 0, press the volume up button one time and it goes all they way to 40. Also happens when I gas it, cruising at the no wake zone at level 15, second I accelerate from idle to 6+ mph straight to volume level 40. Always been perfect previous to today; never had an issue. Volume down on deceleration works perfect?
    Help.

Not the same issue but I've had a similar issue. Our issue is the LINC screen no looses control over the radio.

It usually happens after the auto volumes raises the level. Then it never goes down. The LINC screen and transom remote are both dead. The only solution has been to shut it down. Then good to go again.

We had an issue similar to jesutton3 except it would lock up when changing source. We unplugged the harness from the head unit and everything was great (no stereo) for the remainder of the day. I was sure by us isolating it to the head unit it was the issue. Took it to the dealer, they worked with Nautique and determined we needed a specific software update. I didn't buy into that and felt the head unit should have been replaced...I was wrong and they were right. It was frustrating as it was our first trip out with friends and family in the new ride. There was another thread about a month ago regarding Linc 2 issues and a software update solved that as well. Good luck.

After many hours of using the LINC system, I personally believe that the system does not have enough memory installed to handle all these boats throw at it. I know when I am running tons of accessories (speed control, GPS maps, stereo, multiple user setting changes, ballast changes, NSS, etc.) and run the boat for many hours on end (demos, contests, etc.), after a few hours, it takes a LONG time to even switch between screens. I have waited 30+ seconds for LINC to respond under these circumstances. A complete shutdown of the boat always fixes it, but shouldn't be necessary. Software upgrades can "fix" the issue by changing the memory requirements of any one feature, but I think a true fix would likely be a memory boost, although that would likely require a redesign of the entire system.

Took it to the dealer, and of course it wouldn't do it there, thankfully I recorded a video of some of the weird things it was doing to which they forwarded onto nautiques. Corporate said to update the software to the latest version. First 2 days post update no issues- even turned up my amp gains back to normal levels thinking I was all good... didn't even make it out of the harborthe following day and sure enough full volume... Dang. Disconnected everything for the day, then decided to turn off adaptive stereo control the next day, didn't see it jump up at all. Not sure if it was a fluke or if it is tied into the adaptive stereo system. Wondering if there are other ideas, as I don't have a stereo remote and I feel like adjusting volume through the link everytime someone falls is a pain.

On the water today, same issue. Straight to max volume. If I hit the volume up key or if I gas it. Has anyone got a fix yet.

If there is a transom remote, that would be my first suspect. Id disconnect it and see if the problem continues.

We have experienced the same frustrating issue MANY times over the past few years. Suspected the transom remote and also the auto-volume, so have tried to minimize use of the transom remote and backed off on the amount of auto-volume compensation. Still happens, but not as frequently. Since we use mostly Spotify through a Bluetooth connection, I am able to knock the volume down with the phone volume button, since the buttons on the Linc and the knob on the head unit have a LOT of lag time in decreasing the volume. Wouldn't doubt that it has something to do with insufficient memory, as NautiqueJeff said. Even in the absence of this problem, it would be nice to have a good, old-fashioned knob near the driver to control the volume quickly.

On these boats, the link acts as nothing more then a slave remote to the main head unit, same as the transom remote. However, transom remotes catch the most sun light and most water. They tend to fail WAY more often then a helm remote. Not using or reducing the use of the transom remote make no difference. If its plugged up and has failed or failing inside, it will send unwanted commands to the head, such as going to max volume.

So the easiest place to start, is to disconnect the transom remote. This prevents it from sending any commands to the head. If the issue continues, youve at least eliminated one piece. Next, id disconnect the link. This again, prevents any unwanted commands going to the head. If its a link issue, then the max volume problem goes away with the link disconnect. If both the transom remote and link are eliminated and the problem continues, you are left with the head itself, as nothing else external is sanding commands.

I was also wondering if the gps puck could play a role, sometimes I notice the speed on the link isnt accurate and when this happens the volume responds accordingly, anyone know if if there is a way to disconnect/isolate the puck influence on the volume other than the adaptive volume?

If you have a paddle as well, I would start by eliminating its input via the dealer menu on the link. The paddle wheel , even when you are not in river mode, will over ride the GPS for some Link functions. I learned the hard way it was controlling my NCRS and cruise even when river mode was off.

One way to tell is to unplug the wiring harness from the paddle wheel in the bilge. If you now have no speedo, but the GPS screen on the Link shows good signal, the paddle wheel is controlling your Link. You have to turn it off in the dealer menu.

Probably not your issue, but just in case.

No paddle wheel here unfortunately, that's why I was thinking the gps puck
