    Roswell Cybox install question

I have a question about the install. I have no experience in wiring audio, so help is appreciated! I'm not sure what wire to hook up/into for the "R" port - head unit remote. For the constant + and ground I hooked into the wires going to the "cigarette" lighter in the glove box. I also temporarily hooked the R port wire to the + and this seems to be working fine. The concern is that the unit is powered up the whole time the boat is on. Suggestions are very welcome! Boat is a 2013 210 with I believe the factory clarion head unit.

Is there a factory amp already? Does it have a CDM-6 head unit? if so there should be a blue/white wire that is the remote turn on for the amps in the boat. You should be able to tap that to be the remote turn on for the cybox unit as well.

Yes it has two amps and yes I believe it is the CDM6. I'll take a look when I get home but that sounds like exactly what I need! thanks. Do you see any concern using the power to the 12v cigarette receptacle?

do I? no.... am I a stereo aficionado? no, lol. I don't see an issue using it temporarily, but I would see if there were a better more permanent source for 12VDC. I don't know where the radio is located in a '12 210, but there should be power coming to the stereo/amps already.

To cut down on the possibility of a ground loop issue causing noise in the speakers you really need to power it from the same source as the HU, EQ, amps, etc. The remote turn-on lead out of the HU is what needs to wire to the "R".

I've read a bit about the ground loop issue somewhere. I wonder why they didn't recommend tapping into the main power source as the HU in the instructions. Maybe it was assumed. I'm using the cigarette lighter receptacle in the Glove box and i'm pretty sure that the power splits off from the power going to the head unit. Also, should I be adding a 3amp inline fuse in the line from the power source to the unit?

So far I have not noticed a hiss once it is playing (even paused) but I do get a hiss when I start up the radio and it goes away once I start music. I think this was present before. Never really thought much about it. I think I will re-hook up the R to the remote turn on lead and leave the others be for now unless I start getting new problems. Is this something that will develop or should I notice it right away? Anyway, I do appreciate the advice.

I decided to rewire it. Much more simple now. I mounted it it next to the tower amp and wired it to this amps main power supply and the remote turn on. It is working well so far. You do have to crank the volume but it does sound fine. I admit to not being an audiophile, but so far am pleased. Here is a pic of my how I hooked it up. Hopefully correctly.

I have a question. Every time that i start the boat, it shuts off the music and disconnects the Bluetooth connection from my iPhone. I have to go back to settings in the phone to manually reconnect. Does the power to the amps shut down during startup? Could this have been avoided if I had just left it connected to the cigarette style power source? Any thoughts appreciated.

Don't use the blue wire fo amp remote turn on. Use the head unit positive and negative.

I installed one of these this year. It plays pretty well, but when I switch it on there's a buzz in the speakers before I even connect to the bluetooth.

I installed the Cybox as a stand alone unit, so I don't need a head unit to play it through. I tied it into the courtesy lights switch as the switch that powers the Cybox. Any suggestions on how to eliminate the buzz in the speakers?

                    Thanks.
