    sub help

Think I just blew my sub... Installed a remote for the driver sear to the amp... Now it just farts. If anyone has a solution that would be better since I'm poor, but if not anyone know of a good replacement to drop back into its place? 2012 230.

Shopping eBay... Is the stock speaker in our boats the Polk mm1040 UM or mm1040 DVC?

I would look at the amp's manuals and match a speaker to that... vice trying just to put the "stock" speaker. I know some of the polks have strange ratings (2.3 ohms??) So look at the amps ratings, and pick a 10" sub that would work for that.

I would part with the sub in my Nautique. It is a 10 inch free air sub. Assuming that is the same thing that you already have. But if something you did made the sub blow, you need to fix that issue first, or you will just have a second blown sub.

Back more to the point, however, is that I would want to make sure exactly what happened here. I am concerned that you changed something and suddenly it does not work right. Does it still sound bad if you return it to the original configuration?

Took it apart, realized that the cone came unglued, might attempt a re-glue prior to investing in new sub

Sounds like over excursion because its not a true IB woofer but used as such.

I think once again MLA is right, good news $4 worth of glue and it's back, performing as normal (which still isn't great) but better than it was while separated; decided in the mean time to shop for deals for a true free air... anyone go with the JL 10 IB in that location and happy(ier) with it? or maybe the wetsounds free air 10?

Can you widen out the hole to an 11" diameter for a 12"?

Allows you to get into a Fi Audio IB sub. Would straight stomp out other IB offerings to include JL and WS's.

Paper coned woofers sure do have good sound quality.
