RGB LED hook up question

I tried searching other forum posts and videos but didnt find a clear explanation on how to hook up LED wire strips to a switch or how to connect pieces. WIth the below pictures in mind I have 2 questions.

1 - This set has the white color controller that plugs into the DC. What is correct way to remove the DC and plug into a switch on my boat.
2 - Do I connect a wire to each of the 4 copper pieces?

I used the dim factory curtesy light wedge plugs to power my LED lights. If you go to super bright LED website they have wedge plugs with wire hooked to the. Then I just soldered the flat tabs to that for the LED strips. Later tonight I'll post more details part numbers and such. Headed to river right now!
