Remote insert ideas for earlier model SANs

So the backing mount on my remote by the steering wheel broke last week while going over some rollers. It sits in the slot most of the time but falls out some now. It's an easy fix I just haven't taken the time to do it. It got me thinking that there has to be a replacement insert some creative person has come up with, since most people are replacing the factory units. I have an aftermarket head unit and do not use the remote either. So I did a quick search on the topic and didn't come up with anything. Has anyone seen any cool looking ideas to remove the remote and clean up the dash with the hole that was left? Thanks in advance.
