About a month ago the volume on our 2012 210 randomly went from about 24 to max (40). We were surfing at the time, using the zero off, but the lake was very calm so the engine was relatively stable. I had my iPhone plugged into the head unit via USB, and the auto volume was set to either 2 or 3. I was driving, and I can verify that no one adjusted anything. I couldn't turn down the volume immediately so I had to turn the head unit off. Unfortunately the tower speakers are completely blown. The sub and in boats seem to be ok. I thought the issue might be either the transom remote or the auto volume, so I unplugged the remote and set the auto volume to 0; however, it happened again a few more times, including this morning when we were surfing again. The last thing I can do is unplug the Link completely, but this is a pain since I can't control the volume at all when driving. I've read a few other similar issues, but haven't found a solution. It happens very rarely so I'm not even sure I will know if I have isolated the issue to the Link. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to install new tower speakers until I resolve this.

there are at least 3 other threads I've seen with this issue. I have the problem as well and even have sent corporate nautiques videos of it happening. Everyone including nautiques has said that I just needed my link flashed and reloaded with the newest software. I've done that and am still having the issue… but it has worked for some, hopefully you have better luck. I have since adjusted my amps gains so that when it happens I don't continue to blow speakers and I now keep my phone/iPod close so i can rip it out of the aux plug quickly when it starts to happen. It is a huge hassle and am very upset nautiques doesn't have any solution for me. They also recommended the solution of not running the boat in auto volume mode; but I still happens even when the stereo isn't connected to speed/RMPs- maybe that will work for you? (Even if it does I don't really consider this solution- my old nautique had an audio remote on the dash to quickly change volume/att when the rider fell, having to change it using the linc eveytime is a pain IMO). Good Luck.
And if you find a solution that works, please share

Thanks for responding - I did see those other threads, but it doesn't look like a solution was found. I turned the auto volume off, but I am still having the issue. Nautique believes that it is an issue with the communications cable between the Link and head unit. I am going to try to replace it so I will let you know if I have any success. Unfortunately it happens so rarely (once in about 10hrs of use last weekend) that it may be a while until I am convinced it is fixed.
