Refer back to post #8. If the Syn-2/Icon-8 package eats up your $15000 budget, then leave the Kicker 700.5 for the in-boats and sub.

Besides being a power hungry class-A/B, the Kicker 700.5 is a rock solid performing amp. Power wise, its spot on for the woofer and in-boats. A good solid tower setup seems to be your main focus, so put your budget towards that.

Honestly, just get a pair of Rev10's and run them off the Polk 4000.4. Then you will have the BEST tower speakers on the market. When the Polk or kicker crap out, replace with a better amplifier.

After much delay I pulled the trigger on a pair of ICON 8s and a HTX6 amp. My plan was to run the icons off the Polk 4000.4 and replace my kicker 700.5 with the HTX6 for that to run the 6 in-boats and my sub. Is this the best option for the equipment I have?

If so can anyone help me wire and tune the icons to the polk 4000.4? Once I get that set up I'll be installing the HTX6 and will probably be asking for advice with that.

Thanks guys, can't wait to get these hooked up.

Next step will be to replace the in-boats later this year or next.

The Polk 4000.4 puts out 400 watts per channel in bridged mode. The WS ICON 8 is rated for 150 RMS watts and 300 peak. Based purely on specs it seems like the Polk might be overpowered for the ICONs.
