bass knob help

Wanted to be able to remotely control my sub from the drivers seat... Figured this would do it. Wondering if I have a setting wrong on the amp. Also wondering if anyone has experience with these knobs. Even with the knob set to max the volume of the sub is probably 20% less than if the knob isn't plugged in at all. Turning it to zero does mute it, but turning it to max only gets it to maybe 80% is this normal?

Kicker amps are weird when it comes to the "bass boost" setting. I know on my truck I have a Kicker amp for my sub and when I engage bass boost it disables the remote knob. I would try to download the manual and see if there is something like that going on.

I see a kicker bass control knob in the link but see polk amps in the background. That Kicker knob will only work with a Kicker amp, so is there a kicker sub amp that you are connecting that knob to? if so, what model...........

I just have the 2 stock amps, Both polk, think the d 50005, and 400.4? (not sure off the top of my head). I am running Kicker's dual zone level control- the zxmrlc, which was great originally for one line to the tower and one to the sub. Decided to use that to better control other zones, but still wanted control over the sub. Got a third kicker controller- it works fine, except that while at 0 the sub is off, at level 11 on the knob its more like level 9 in actuality. Didn't realize these knobs were brand specific, didn't think there was much to a bass knob, and as I said, this one works like 80%. Only reason I got a kicker was so that it would match the other 2. You think if I bought a polk knob it would allow the sub to go to 100% of what it is capable of?

The ZXM-RLC is not brand specific as its a pre-amp controller that goes inline on the RCA. A Kicker bass knob IS absolutely Kicker specific and is not intended to work with any other brand amps. the kicker ZXRC bass knob uses that data cable, so the potentiometer sweep of the knob has to match that of the amp. This is why it its not working correctly. You will need the polk bass knob or a simple line level pot like the Wet Sounds WW-L. Or, get a PAC LC and panel mount all 3 knobs. They hardly look different then.

Even further, the knobs with the ZXM-RLC are not interchangeable with the ZXRC.

Used standard pac LC's on my last boat, worked fine, but didn't want to run 6 sets of RCA wires from the amp to drivers seat, just assumed using the 6pin phone wire would be better quality, or if nothing else less work and look less cluttered. Do you know if all polk bass knobs are the same and would work or are there different models as you've mentioned in kicker rlc vs. rc?

In its retail form, the DA P5000.5 includes the bass knob, but I dont see it listed as an accessory.
